Most foreclosure cases where an attorney is involved does not result in the actual foreclosure sale of the home. The vast majority of them resolve with the person being able to retain their home. Many also are resolved through what’s called a deed in lieu of foreclose. That is, rather than coming after me personally, I will sign my title of my property over to you.
That happens a lot when the value of the property is less than what you actually owe under your mortgage. And there are a number of other ways to resolve this dispute without an actual foreclose sale or foreclosure judgment.
