What is an injunction?

An injunction is a type of remedy that a court can award in situations where someone is suffering from irreparable harm. Irreparable harm is a type of injury that can’t be remedied by a payment of damages. An example of an injunction is where a court will prevent an ex-employee from working in a particular industry, within a specific geographic area, for a specified period of time.
